Rabat – O Tower and Hilton have announced the signing of a contract deal for the Mohammed VI Tower hotel under the Waldorf Astoria brand.
The Waldorf Astoria Rabat-Sale will open in 2025, spanning 18 levels from the 29th to the 46th floor.
It will enhance the capital’s tourism offering with a unique hotel experience in Morocco, according to a statement from O Tower.
The hotel will include 55 rooms, including regular sized 11 accommodations and 44 suites.
It will also include four restaurants, a ballroom, and a business lounge.
“I am very pleased to associate the Waldorf Astoria brand with our iconic Mohammed VI Tower, with its hotel becoming undoubtedly one of the jewels of luxury hospitality in Morocco, Africa, and Internationally,” O Tower’s President Othman Benjelloun said in the statement.
The president added that the signing is also part of the O Tower’s commitment to making the tower a “driving force for development in the region, and contributing to the global recognition of Moroccan know-how.”
Vice President of Luxury Development for Europe and Africa at Hilton Daniel Wakeling also commented on the signing, stressing that the hotel will be part of the iconic Mohammed VI Tower.
He said the concept covers a visionary mixed-use project that represents a beacon of opportunities and possibilities for Morocco and the entire African continent, adding that the hotel will bring to Rabat the “unmatched service and timeless elegance of luxury brand,”
Morocco’s tourism performance has witnessed significant growth as a sought-after destination, with the country seeking to welcome 2 million tourists by 2030.
“We see a great opportunity to continue expanding our footprint across the country and introduce new brands,” Wakeling said, adding that Hilton is excited to work closely with O Tower to offer guests in Rabat the unique hospitality of Waldorf Astoria with an authentic Moroccan twist.
The Mohammed VI Tower is standing at a height of 250 meters and is located on the edge of the Bouregreg River.
Construction of the tower began in 2018 with financing from the Bank of Africa.
