Rabat — King Mohammed VI underwent successful surgery on his left shoulder on Sunday at the Royal Palace Clinic in Rabat.
The operation was required after the monarch sustained a humeral fracture during a routine physical activity earlier in the day, according to a statement from the monarch’s medical team.
The medical team described the surgery as a success, the statement said, noting that the King is now recovering under the supervision of his personal physicians.
The royal team confirmed that the King’s left shoulder will be immobilized for a period of 45 days.
The monarch’s doctors expressed confidence in his recovery, the statement concluded, noting that the medical team caring for the King is led by professor Belyamani Lahcen.
The team includes prominent orthopedic specialists professors Zine Ali, Bouabid Salim, and Benchekroun Mohammed, who are affiliated with the Mohammed V Military Hospital in Rabat.
