Rabat – A delegation from Morocco’s southern provinces showcased investment opportunities in the region during a meeting held in Trento, northeastern Italy this weekend.

The gathering convened Italian officials, business leaders, and members of the Moroccan community in Italy to promote the region’s economic, cultural, and tourism potential.

Organized by the Consulate General of Morocco in Verona, the meeting celebrated the 49th anniversary of the Green March and the 69th anniversary of Morocco’s independence.

The event focused on the growth and development in the southern provinces as a leading destination, as well as the favorable conditions for foreign investment.

The Moroccan delegation included parliamentarians, local officials, and heads of departments who provided an overview of the key sectors in the region. They also noted the legal reforms and incentives designed to attract foreign investors.

The discussions spoke of Morocco’s progress under the leadership of King Mohammed VI, leading to a dynamic and sustainable development model, particularly in the southern provinces. Delegates encouraged Italian investors and the Moroccan diaspora in Italy to seize promising business opportunities in the region.

Consul General of Morocco in Verona, Ouafa Zahi, acknowledged the strong and historic ties between Morocco and Italy, which are set to mark 200 years of diplomatic relations next year. She noted the multidimensional partnership between the two countries, which includes political dialogue, economic and cultural collaboration, security coordination, and agreements on migration and consular affairs.

Zahi also spoke of southern Morocco’s rapid growth and its emergence as a prime destination for foreign capital and global tourism, attributing this success to the leadership of King Mohammed VI.

The consul general also announced plans for more meetings to strengthen economic cooperation and establish partnerships between businesses in the Trento region and southern Morocco.
