Rabat – Swissport International has secured a major license to open a new executive lounge in Morocco, enabling it to operate in 11 lounges across 9 Moroccan airports.
The international provider of premium airport lounge services secured the license from the Moroccan airport authority (ONDA) to start operating in April at the airports of Agadir, Casablanca, Fez, Laayoune, Marrakesh, Nador, Oujda, Rabat, and Tangier.
Swissport said recently on its official website that while maintaining Aspire’s renowned international hospitality standards, the lounge will vitrine the brand’s latest offerings with a unique blend of local Moroccan aesthetics, cuisine, and beverages.
It noted that the ten-year license will be an opportunity for the company to provide travelers with an authentic experience, offering a true taste of Morocco’s “aesthetics, food and beverages, and an ambiance” in a comfortable and sophisticated environment.
David Collyer, Global Senior Vice President of Executive Lounges at Swissport International, expressed the company’s enthusiasm to expand its services and hospitality to many Moroccan airports.
Swissport’s goal is to provide “modern, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed spaces that invite every traveler to be our guest, regardless of their airline or travel class,” he argued.
Speaking of the company’s vision, he noted that it is set to bring the hotel guest experience into the airport experience, providing comfort and quality to meet passengers’ expectations and needs.
“For over a decade, Swissport has been a key player in Morocco’s aviation sector,” said Dirk Goovaerts, CEO of Continental Europe, Middle East, Africa & India, and Global Cargo Chair of Swissport International.

Swissport has been operating in Morocco since 2012, and this expansion is set to boost Morocco’s position as a leading aviation hub in North Africa.
In 2019, the company secured a seven-year license to manage 15 airports, including Agadir, Al Hoceima, Casablanca, Dakhla, Errachidia, Essaouira, Fez, Laayoune, Marrakech, Nador, Ouarzazate, Oujda, Rabat, Tangier, and Tetouan.
At a time when the country’s aviation sector is experiencing rapid growth, Aspire has decided to expand its operations in Morocco.
In recent years, with increased air traffic and a growing number of international flights, Morocco has become a key transit point between Europe, Africa, and the Middle East. Morocco’s airports are expected to become even more attractive to high-end travelers with the expansion of premium services.
