Rabat – The Antoinette Tubman Stadium in Liberia is undergoing major renovations, which Morocco funds under a deal between the Liberia Football Association (LFA) and Morocco’s football bosses, the Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF).

The upgrades include a brand-new turf, a drainage system, and a water station to keep the pitch in top condition.

The LFA shared the exciting news on Facebook, saying another phase of the work is now in progress.

“Another phase of the ongoing refurbishment at the Antoinette Tubman Stadium is underway,” said LFA in a Facebook post. “The ongoing project is fully funded by the FRMF as part of a Technical Corporation agreement signed between LFA and the FRMF in 2020.”

This project is part of a bigger plan Morocco has adopted to help African football grow. In fact, the FRMF has signed around 40 deals with different African football groups. These agreements focus on training, refereeing, and building better sports facilities.

Morocco has even paid for new pitches in places like Burkina Faso, Djibouti, and Guinea.

In December 2024, Morocco signed a deal with FIFA boss Gianni Infantino to open FIFA’s Africa office in Rabat. The FIFA office will host some 300 employees of the international football body to carry out missions in Morocco and Africa ahead of the 2030 World Cup co-hosted alongside Portugal and Spain.
