Rabat – Israel’s Defense Ministry announced today the overnight arrival of a shipment of US “heavy” American bombs.
“The munitions shipment that arrived in Israel tonight, released by the Trump Administration,” Israeli Defence Minister Israel Katz said, noting that the shipment “represents a significant asset.”
It is expected to boost the military capabilities of the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) and “serves as further evidence of the strong alliance between Israel and the United States,” he added.
AFP reports indicated that the delivery included the MK-84 unguided 900-kilogram (2,000-pound) bombs, which contain approximately half a ton of explosives and have an impact radius of 365 meters, capable of causing extensive damage over wide areas.
This shipment comes after Trump recently authorized the delivery of MK-84 bombs, as the previous administration under Joe Biden had refused to allow the export of said bombs. Biden said his reluctance to deliver the bombs was due to concerns about their potential use in densely populated areas in Gaza.
The shipment coincides with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio’s first visit to the Middle East as he arrived yesterday in Israel.

The visit is expected to include talks over Trump’s controversial proposals to “take over” Gaza and forcibly displace over one million Palestinians from the war-torn enclave to develop it and turn it into the “Riviera of the Middle East.”
What the shipment means:
The massive shipment signals US complicity with Israel, its Middle East closest ally, in implementing Trump’s controversial proposal over Gaza with potential plans of mass destruction.
“We discussed Trump’s bold vision for Gaza’s future and will work to ensure that vision becomes a reality,” Netanyahu told reporters, thanking Rubio for “unequivocal backing” for Israel’s policy in Gaza.
This massive arms transfer occurs as tensions remain high in the region, raising questions about the potential escalation of conflict and its humanitarian consequences.
As the previously delayed second round of the Gaza ceasefire talks is expected to take place by the beginning of next week, the ammunition delivery reflects Israel’s show-off of its military capability.
Analysts believe Trump’s plans are in line with Israel’s policy and further a plan of genocidal and ethnic cleansing of Palestinians.
In addition to the arms delivery, Trump said earlier that “Israel will now have to decide what they will do about the 12:00 O’CLOCK, TODAY, DEADLINE imposed on the release of ALL HOSTAGES.”
Many see these developments as warning that the US and Israel are paving the way for a unilateral agreement for the next round of the Gaza ceasefire talks.
