Rabat – Real Madrid is facing Real Sociedad in the first leg of the Copa del Rey semifinals at Reale Arena today at 08:30 Morocco time.

Fans can follow the game’s broadcast on SSC and Portuguese channel Sport TV, as well as watch the live stream through ESPN.

While Loc Blancos are seeking the 21st time title in their history, Sociedad dreams of becoming four-time Copa del Rey winners.

With two games ahead to seal their spot in April’s final, the Basque side made their way to the semifinals navigating five challenges through the competition stages.

Through the tournament stages, Imanol Alguacil’s men have displayed remarkable form in the tournament, eliminating Jove Espanol, Conquense, Ponferradina, and Rayo Vallecano before securing a convincing 2-0 quarter-final victory over Osasuna through goals from Barrenetxea and Mendez.

This triumph sparked an impressive run that has seen La Real win five of their last six matches, including Sunday’s assertive 3-0 league victory against Leganes which propelled them to eighth in La Liga.

Their formidable home record, winning 11 of their last 13 competitive fixtures at the Reale Arena, gives them reason for optimism despite their underdog status.

Moroccan international Nayef Aguerd, Sociedad’s center defender, underwent medical scans yesterday to assess the extent of the damage in his thigh injury, making his inclusion in the starting eleven doubtful.

Meanwhile, Carlo Ancelotti’s Real Madrid continue their pursuit of a potential four-fold.

Following their FIFA Intercontinental Cup, Los Blanco remain competitors across La Liga, Champions League, and Copa del Rey fronts.

After a brief league stumble, Real Madrid reignited their title challenge with Sunday’s 2-0 win over Girona, featuring a spectacular strike from Modric and a late Vinicius Junior goal.

This victory placed them level with Barcelona at La Liga’s summit with 54 points.

Madrid’s cup journey has included triumphs over Deportivo Minera, Celta Vigo, and a dramatic 3-2 win against Leganes, sealed by Gonzalo Garcia’s first senior goal.

With 20 Copa del Rey titles already in their trophy cabinet, Madrid will be confident of success, having won their last three encounters with Real Sociedad.

Predicted Lineups:

Real Sociedad: Remiro; Aramburu, Zubeldia, Elustondo, Munoz; Zubimendi; Kubo, Marin, Olasagasti, Gomez; Oyarzabal

Real Madrid: Lunin; Vasquez, Asencio, Rudiger, Garcia; Ceballos, Tchouamini; Rodrygo, Bellingham, Vinicius; Mbappe
