Rabat – As part of the “Iftar Ramadan 1446-2025” initiative, Morocco’s Royal Guard will distribute Ftour meals to families in need throughout the holy month.

Each year, the program ensures that vulnerable families receive a warm meal as they break their fast, a timeless symbol of the values of solidarity and compassion during Ramadan.

The operation extends to several cities. In Rabat, distribution will take place in Dar Es-Salam, Touarga, Souissi, as well as at Moulay Abdellah Oncology Hospital and Avicenne Children’s Hospital.

Other cities that are taking part in the initiative include Sale, Tangier, Tetouan, and Marrakesh, among others.

A total of 150,000 meals will be distributed over the course of the month, which seeks to ensure that families facing hardship have access to a warm and nourishing Ftour.

To guarantee smooth operations, the Royal Guard will coordinate with local authorities at distribution points. Officials will supervise the process to make sure that families receive meals in the best conditions.

Morocco is grappling with inflation, and it’s becoming increasingly difficult for families to keep up with daily expenses.

Basic necessities that were once affordable are now often too expensive and have slipped out of reach for many families.

With Ramadan underway, prices of staples, from tomatoes to meat and dairy, continue to rise, and tighten the noose on Moroccans and their pockets.

To that effect, the initiative seeks to lighten part of the financial burden by offering relief to those struggling to afford a proper meal.

Earlier this month, Crown Prince Moulay El Hassan and Princess Lalla Khadija launched another similar solidarity initiative, called “Ramadan 1446” in order to extend support to families in need.

With a budget of MAD 330 million ($33 million), this year’s effort provided 34,280 tons of food supplies.

The aid includes essential staples such as flour, milk, rice, oil, sugar, tomato concentrate, pasta, and tea.
