Rabat – Mahmoud Al-Habash, Chief Judge and Adviser on Religious Affairs and Islamic Relations to the President of Palestine, praised King Mohammed VI’s leadership as President of the Al-Quds Committee in supporting the Palestinian cause.

The special envoy highlighted that the discussions focused on “the central issue that concerns the Arab and Islamic nation today, and is of great importance to the Moroccan people and the Kingdom of Morocco, with His Majesty King Mohammed VI, who considers this issue his national priority.”

Al-Habash further emphasized that King Mohammed VI “works to support the cause of Al-Quds al-Sharif, whether religiously, politically, or humanely,” recalling that the Moroccan monarch presides over the Al-Quds Committee, which implements humanitarian aid programs in Jerusalem and throughout Palestinian territories.

The advisor to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas also addressed the current situation in Palestine. “We discussed the latest developments in Palestine in light of the ongoing Israeli aggression, as well as the Arab and international efforts being made to resolve this situation based on international legitimacy and law,” he stated.

According to the advisor, these efforts”aim to achieve a just and comprehensive peace, where all countries and peoples of the region can live in security, peace, and stability.”

Al-Habash concluded by emphasizing that President Mahmoud Abbas and the Palestinian people “are proud of His Majesty the King and his positions, as well as the fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Morocco and the State of Palestine, and between the Moroccan and Palestinian peoples.”

He added: “We are confident that these fraternal relations will continue to grow stronger (…) to serve the Palestinian cause and broader Arab issues.”

Held on March 5  in Cairo, the Extraordinary Arab Summit reaffirmed the crucial role of the Al-Quds Committee, chaired by King Mohammed VI, and the Bayt Mal Al-Quds Asharif Agency, the committee’s executive arm.

This affirmation was included in the Cairo Declaration, which concluded the summit that focused on the reconstruction of Gaza and the need to further support the Palestinian cause.
