Rabat – Trade between Azerbaijan and Morocco has seen notable growth in the first two months of 2025. According to the Azerbaijani State Customs Committee, trade volume between the two nations rose by 56% from January to February compared to the same period in 2024, indicating a solid strengthening of bilateral economic relations.

This increase aligns with commitments made during the second session of the Morocco-Azerbaijan Joint Commission, held in Rabat in November of 2023.

The meeting, co-chaired by Moroccan Foreign Minister Nasser Bourita and Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, resulted in several agreements aimed at boosting cooperation in key areas such as energy and logistics.

The rise in trade demonstrates both countries’ efforts to enhance economic collaboration through strategic partnerships and sector diversification.

This growth in financial exchanges shows the  increasing complementarity between their markets, supported by ongoing dialogue between government institutions and business leaders.

In addition to the uptick in trade, the partnership between Baku and Rabat has been reinforced by a mutual visa exemption agreement. This policy allows citizens of both countries to travel for short stays without needing a visa, further promoting tourism, business exchanges, and cultural ties.

In a recent visit to Morocco, chairman of the state committee for work with the diaspora of the republic of Azerbaijan, Fuad Muradov, lauded Morocco’s humanitarian policy towards migration, and King Mohammed VI’s policies towards the Moroccan diaspora as well as migrants in general.
