Mrirt – Israel’s resumption of bombardment on Gaza has killed 921 Palestinians in less than two weeks, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. Over the past 24 hours, Israeli Occupation Forces’ (IOF) airstrikes on the war-torn Gaza killed 26 Palestinians, bringing the death toll since October 2023 to 50,277.
The ministry deplored the situation, saying: “Many victims are still trapped under the rubble and on the roads, with rescuers unable to reach them.”
In addition to Palestinian civilians, the IOF is targeting the Palestinian Red Crescent Society (PRCS) and Gaza’s Civil Defense.
Basem Naim, Hamas spokesman, accused Israel of “targeted killing of rescue workers – who are protected under international humanitarian law.” He described this as “a deliberate and brutal massacre.”
The head of the UN Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA), Tom Fletcher, said that Israel has been striking densely populated areas since March 18, leading to the killing of hundreds of children and other civilians.
“If the basic principles of humanitarian law still count, the international community must act while it can to uphold them,” Fletcher said in a statement.
The IOF has also issued several evacuation orders, including the latest today in which Israel’s military spokesperson Avichay Adraee called on Gazans to vacate the Khirbet Khuza’a and Abasan al-Kabira neighbourhoods in southern Gaza.
The spokesperson warned that Palestinians in those districts should “evacuate west immediately to the shelters in the al-Mawasi area.”

Israel describes the small coastal area of al-Mawasi as a “humanitarian safe zone,” signaling its willingness to intensify strikes on the evacuated areas.
Israeli troops have also forced more than 4,000 families to remain displaced after being evicted by Israeli troops from the Tulkarem and Nur Shams refugee camps, in the occupied West Bank.
According to the Tulkarem Media Committee, about 3,000 homes have been completely or partially destroyed since Israel began its military campaign, which has been going on for 62 days in Tulkarem and 49 in Nur Shams.
Israel broke the ceasefire truce and launched its assaults on the Gaza enclave on March 18.
The humanitarian situation in the Palestinian enclave is deteriorating as Israel continues to use a food and water blockade as a weapon against civilian Gazans.
