Mrirt – Morocco’s Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency has recently reviewed the results of its annual Ramadan humanitarian campaign during an Iftar gathering in Jerusalem.

The event brought together religious and academic figures alongside representatives from social organizations that benefited from the agency’s 2025 aid program.

The agency distributed over 1,500 food baskets to families in need and approximately 3,000 meal portions at the Al-Aqsa Mosque and various social centers. Additionally, 200 orphans under the agency’s care received new clothes for Eid Al Fitr celebrations.

Palestinian leaders at the event lauded this collective Iftar initiative, which united diverse segments of Palestinian society around one table.

The gathering marked the culmination of the Ramadan campaign and coincided with the commemoration of Laylat Al-Qadr, considered one of the holiest nights in Islam.

During the gathering, Jerusalem’s Mufti, Sheikh Muhammad Hussein, expressed gratitude to Morocco and King Mohammed VI, who chairs the Al Quds Committee, for their unwavering support of Jerusalem institutions, particularly during Ramadan. He pointed out that the holy city and its residents need these efforts to continue.

Meanwhile, Bishop Munib Younan, former president of the Lutheran World Federation, mentioned the strong, genuine unity and cohesion between Muslim and Christian Palestinians. He voiced hope that Palestinians would establish an independent state where they could live in peace and security.

For his part, Abdullah Siam, Deputy Governor of Jerusalem, commended the meaningful Moroccan presence in the holy city through the commendable work of the Bayt Mal Al Quds Agency.

Siam noted that the agency’s initiatives, conducted under King Mohammed VI’s guidance and supervision, have made tangible improvements to daily life for Jerusalem residents across many aspects of society.

Earlier this month, the Agency and the Palestinian Ministry of Social Development signed an agreement to support orphaned and amputee children affected by the Israeli genocidal war on Gaza, which has left more than 38,000 children orphaned since it started in October 2023.
