Rabat – Morocco’s tourism office organized this week a Pan-African workshop dedicated to boosting tourism across Africa in Casablanca. The event brought together tourism representatives, experts, and major players from the hotel and airline industries. The main goal of the workshop was to strengthen the position of both Morocco and the African continent on the global tourism map. The event highlighted Morocco’s role as a key hub for tourism in Africa and a driving force behind the sector’s development. During the event, participants discussed how to make Africa a more attractive travel destination. They focused on ways to improve air travel connections, attract more international visitors, and offer better tourist experiences.  Morocco is already working on these goals through a strategy based on accessibility, diverse tourist attractions, and the growing presence of international hotel brands in the country, according to a press release. The workshop was also part of ONMT’s efforts to make Moroccan and African tourism more competitive. Key areas of focus included better air connectivity, a wider range of tourist options, and improved services for visitors. Experts from Morocco and abroad led discussions on several important topics such as developing tourism infrastructure, using digital tools to enhance travel experiences, and promoting sustainable and responsible tourism across Africa. One of the major aims of the workshop was to encourage more air routes between African countries, create shared marketing strategies, and support stronger cooperation among tourism stakeholders.  The meeting ended with a set of recommendations aimed at increasing cooperation between African countries to improve the visibility of Africa as a travel destination and encourage environmentally friendly practices in tourism.
