Rabat – Chakib Benmoussa, High Commissioner for Planning, and Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry and Trade, have officially signed a partnership agreement on Monday, April 28th, in Rabat aimed at fostering stronger collaboration between the High Commission for Planning (HCP) and the ministry.

The agreement focuses on improving the exchange of data between the two entities.

This initiative is more than just an agreement; it acts as a roadmap to streamline the exchange of information, modernize survey methods, and enhance the understanding of Morocco’s economic landscape.

The idea is to create a sturdy framework that enables better data-driven decision-making, which in turn supports the country’s industrial development.

The partnership outlines specific measures, such as joint surveys and data exchange, to strengthen industrial strategies and attract investment. It also includes conducting studies that will provide insights into the performance of Morocco’s industrial sector.

In his statement to the press, Benmoussa notes the importance of the HCP’s role in providing accurate and reliable economic indicators. He underlines that the partnership would help track the evolution of the country’s industrial fabric and meet the data needs of various economic players.

“This cooperation will enable us to structure how we collect, analyze, and use data while respecting institutional independence and ensuring the effectiveness of public policies,” Benmoussa said. “Through this agreement, we place data at the heart of public action in industry and trade.”

Mezzour also notes the need for precise statistical data to develop impactful public policies. He commended the collaboration with the HCP as an essential tool for monitoring industrial performance and evaluating the outcomes of these policies.

He explained that the collaboration would focus on producing timely, reliable, and comprehensive data to enhance the implementation and monitoring of public policies. By mobilizing the HCP’s expertise, both parties aim to improve the management of national policies and accelerate their rollout.

This partnership reflects the shared vision of the HCP and the Ministry of Industry and Trade to work together in advancing Morocco’s socio-economic development.
