Doha – The city of Casablanca and the Deposit and Management Fund (CDG) signed a partnership agreement for the creation and official launch of “Casablanca Tech Valley,” a new technology hub in Sidi Othmane.
Casablanca Mayor Nabila Rmili and Khalid Safir, Director General of CDG, signed the agreement under the auspices of Mohamed Mhidia, Wali of the Casablanca-Settat region. The signing ceremony took place on Wednesday at the Casablanca-Settat Wilaya.
This project, which will be developed by Ewane, a subsidiary of the CDG group, serves as a direct extension of the “Casa Nearshore” zone. According to Rmili, the tech hub will span 6.5 hectares and aims to position Casablanca among Africa’s leading technology centers.
The initiative marks a crucial advance toward equilibrium in urban growth while boosting the region’s appeal to investors.
Casablanca Tech Valley embodies an ambitious vision for a competitive city capable of attracting investments while creating high-value-added jobs, strengthening Casablanca’s position as an African technology hub of excellence.
The project is expected to generate more than 20,000 direct jobs, opening new prospects for residents of Casablanca and its surrounding regions. It will contribute to rebalancing territorial dynamics within the city while leveraging the local assets of Sidi Othmane.
Ewane group, Mohammed VI Polytechnic University (UM6P), the Municipal Equipment Fund, and the Casablanca-Settat Regional Council signed an additional agreement, further cementing the project’s foundation.
The technology hub is among the new structuring projects in Moulay Rachid prefecture’s Sidi Othmane district.
It aims to support inclusive and sustainable economic growth by anticipating increasing pressure on existing economic activity zones and meeting modern urban planning requirements and environmental standards.
The signing ceremony was attended by Jamal Mokhtatar, Governor of Moulay Rachid prefecture, Houssine Nasrallah, Second Vice-President of Casablanca municipality in charge of heritage, and Mehdi El Kabbaj, Director General of Ewane.
