Rabat – Morocco’s Ministry of Digital Transition and Administration Reform and the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) signed a new partnership agreement today in Rabat to strengthen cooperation and promote the use of digital identity services in public administration.

The agreement was signed by Minister Delegate in charge of Digital Transition and Administration Reform, Amal Falah Saghroutni, and Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance, Abdellatif Hammouchi.

According to a joint statement, the agreement follows the royal directives to improve Morocco’s digital government and make it easier for citizens to access public services using modern technologies. It is also part of the national “Digital Morocco 2030” strategy.

The main goal of the agreement is to improve the quality of public services offered to citizens by connecting different government institutions and making digital identity services more accessible.

These services are based on the new generation of the national electronic ID card, which includes secure digital features, said the statement.

It added that the agreement aims to provide a legal and organizational framework for cooperation between the Ministry and the DGSN. It will also allow public institutions to use the country’s third-party identity verification system, helping citizens complete services online instead of in person.

The partnership is set to speed up the country’s digital transformation in the public sector and help develop high-quality, user-friendly digital services that focus on making life easier for citizens.

This agreement appears to be addressing concerns raised by many citizens about the long delays and lack of organization in completing administrative procedures. It is expected to streamline access to services and make interactions with public institutions quicker and more straightforward.
