Rabat – Morocco’s U20 Atlas Lions are returning to the AFCON football pitch today, taking on Tunisia. Media reports describe both as North Africa’s heavyweights.
The match will take place at the Suez Canal Stadium in Ismailia at 4 p.m. Moroccan time.
The winning team will advance to the knockout stages, while a draw will be enough for the Atlas Lions to advance to this stage of the competition.
Morocco’s participation in the competition has been perceived as good to average by sports analysts, as they won two games and ended their latest match goalless and in a draw against Nigeria.
As for Tunisia, they lost their opening game to Nigeria but won a match with Kenya 3-1.
Morocco’s coach Mohamed Ouahbi said the draw with Nigeria was a logical result, expressing satisfaction with his players’ performance.
He acknowledged that the players need to maintain their team spirit if they want to go far in the competition.
The goal is to secure a win in the next game against Tunisia.
“Tunisia are aiming for a third quarter final appearance, having reached the last eight in 1985, 2021, and 2003,” the Confederation of African Football (CAN) wrote on Tuesday.
People seeking to watch the game can do so on Morocco’s Arriyadia TNT sports-focused channel, or the international sports channel beIN Sports HD 6.
CAF TV on YouTube will also air the game along with the Egyptian channel Time Sport.
