Rabat – Police arrested a 39-year-old man in Casablanca for his suspected involvement in a case related to the luring of minors and attempted sexual assault.
The judicial police unit in the Rahma district referred the suspect to the competent public prosecutor on Tuesday morning.
Police received a report indicating that the suspect had been harassing young girls residing in his apartment building, SNRT News quoted a security source as saying.
He allegedly attempted to lure a 10-year-old girl with the intention of sexually abusing her. Police officers intervened swiftly and arrested the suspect shortly after the incident.
Following investigations, police identified four additional victims, aged between 7 and 12 years old, who were also reportedly targeted by the suspect in similar attempts.
The suspect was placed in police custody under the supervision of the public prosecutor while investigations continued to determine the full circumstances and motivations behind the case.
