The university described the latest distinction as part of a broader record of recognition across international university rankings.
In the 2026 Round University Ranking (RUR), UEMF retained first place nationally, according to the university. It also ranked second in Africa in the previous RUR edition, behind the University of Cape Town in South Africa.
UEMF also featured in the 2026 Times Higher Education ranking, where it ranked second in Morocco and fell within the 401-600 range globally.
The university also cited results from ScholarGPS, which placed it first nationally, and U-Multirank, where it said it ranked first in Morocco in teaching and research and among the world’s top 25 universities for student mobility.
UEMF further said that eight of its researchers appeared in the 2025 Stanford-Elsevier list of the world’s top 2% of scientists, reflecting the international visibility of research conducted at the institution.
The latest UI GreenMetric result also builds on UEMF’s performance in the previous edition of the sustainability ranking, when it ranked first nationally and among the world’s top 400 universities.
