Rabat – Morocco is expected to face heavy rain, hail, and strong wind gusts this Sunday in several provinces.
The General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) issued an orange-level weather alert this afternoon.Â
Between 2 p.m. and 10 p.m., storms could bring 15 to 25 millimeters of rain to the provinces of Taza, Khouribga, Driouch, Jerada, Taourirt, Khemisset, Al Hoceima, and Guercif.
The warning comes with alerts of abrupt weather changes.
In areas listed by the DGM, residents can anticipate brief but intense downpours, slippery roads, and limited visibility due to hail or wind.
The alert points to a day of instability in the affected regions, with authorities urging caution as the system moves through.
Yesterday, the DGM also issued an orange-level weather alert warning of an incoming heatwave expected to last from Monday to Wednesday.
The weather authority forecast temperatures to range between 38 and 45 degrees Celsius across various parts of the country during this period.Â
