Rabat – Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Morocco’s national airline, has dropped to 70th place in the 2025 global airline rankings released by Skytrax, falling from 55th place last year.
The ranking was announced yesterday and is based on one of the world’s largest airline passenger satisfaction surveys.
The Skytrax survey collects feedback from millions of travelers worldwide who rate airlines on many aspects of their experience. These include the quality of service from staff both on the ground and onboard, the cleanliness and comfort of the cabins, the quality of food and drinks, ease of check-in and boarding, and overall value for money.
Passengers also nominate and vote for the airline they consider the best. The survey is open to all airlines, big or small, and uses a system to balance comparisons fairly, according to Skytrax.
Royal Air Maroc now ranks sixth in Africa, trailing behind Ethiopian Airlines, which kept its position as the best airline on the continent, Air Mauritius, RwandAir, South African Airways, and EgyptAir, respectively.
At the top of the global list are Qatar Airways in first place, Singapore Airlines in second, and Cathay Pacific Airways in third. These airlines are commended for their high-quality service, comfort, and passenger experience.
The drop in Royal Air Maroc’s rankings may show the airline is facing tougher competition or challenges meeting customer expectations.
RAM is Morocco’s flag carrier. It flies both within Morocco and internationally to more than 80 destinations across Africa, Europe, North America, the Middle East, and other regions. The airline is a member of the Oneworld Alliance and plays an important role in connecting Morocco and West Africa with the world.
