Rabat – FC Barcelona have approved a sponsorship deal with the tourism ministry of the Democratic Republic of Congo for more than €40 million to boost tourism in the country.
The deal will see the country’s logo on some teams’ kits to promote tourism, according to a contract seen by Reuters. The details of the contract have not been revealed yet.
Under the contract, a logo branding DR Congo as the “heart of Africa” will appear on the back of the training jerseys of men’s and women’s teams. The logo will also appear on the club magazine and annual report.
According to Reuters, the deal entails holding an annual amount of €10 million to €11.5 million for the next four seasons.
Last month, DR Congo announced sponsorship deals with AS Monaco and AC Milan without revealing details about the terms and financial commitments.
According to the same source, the contracts with AS Monaco and AC Milan are worth €1.6 million and €14 million per yea,r respectively.
