Kenya meet Zambia in the final game of the CHAN 2024 group stage with an aim to finish top of the group.

Kenya and Zambia meet at the Moi International Sports Centre, Kasarani, for the final Group A match of the TotalEnergies CHAN 2024. Kenya have already secured a place in the quarter-finals, while Zambia are eliminated after three straight defeats.

Gambian referee Lamine Jammeh will blow the kick-off whistle at 1:00 pm (GMT+1), and fans can catch the action live on BeIN Sports MENA, BeIN Sports France, and SuperSport.

Kenya coach Benni McCarthy wants his side to treat the game as more than a formality. “Tomorrow is a game where we must win… we are not focusing on the qualification because we have already been qualified, and it’s just all about finishing off a really good game plan that we have had so far,” he said.

McCarthy has also highlighted the quality of previous opponents. “I will say to the players, in order to be the best, you have to be the best, and I think we’ve proven that throughout the group stages against DRC, Angola and Morocco… Now, we want to make a statement by winning tomorrow so that no one can say it was by chance or by luck.”

Defender Daniel Sakari added: “We want to finish on a high and definitely as a team, each and every game is crucial… The 27,000 fans who will be in the stadium tomorrow mean a lot to us and we know they are going to push us to get a good result.”

For Zambia, coach Avram Grant says his team will fight for pride. “Our aim is to win. Yes, this is our last game, unfortunately… The primary objective has always been to improve the team and expose our local players to international competition.”

Captain Kelvin Kampamba echoed this, saying: “We want to bow out on a high, with a win… We have lost all our matches but we have to do something for our country especially the fans who feel we have let them down and try to get a win.”

Predicted Score:

Kenya are expected to dominate at home, but Zambia will be motivated to end their campaign on a high. A 2-0 win for Kenya looks the likely outcome, ensuring they finish top of the group.
