Israeli Strikes Terrorize Yemeni Civilians as Houthis Vow They Won’t Deter from Palestinian Cause

Israel said it struck a presidential palace, claiming it was part of a “military complex,” in an act that the Houthi defense ministry called “barbarism.”

Rabat – The Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) bombed Yemen’s capital, Sanaa, on Sunday, hitting civilian infrastructure and deepening regional tensions as Israel’s genocide on Gaza continues.

According to Houthi-affiliated Al Masirah TV, the attacks struck an oil facility and a power plant, leaving at least two dead and 35 injured.

Israel claimed it targeted a presidential palace it described as part of a “military complex.”

Houthi officials called this justification false, saying the palace has long been abandoned and that Israel’s strikes aim to terrorize Yemenis rather than hit legitimate targets.

“What Israel is doing is barbarism,” Abed al-Thawr, a Houthi Defense Ministry official, told Al-Jazeera.

The attacks came two days after the Houthis fired missiles toward Israel in support of the Palestinian cause and in response to the ongoing genocide and the siege of Gaza.

Mohammed al-Bukhaiti, a Houthi official, noted that the strikes would not deter their support for Palestinians.

“The Israeli aggression against Yemen will not discourage us from continuing our support for Gaza, no matter the sacrifices,” he said.

On Friday, the Houthis said they launched a hypersonic missile and two drones at Israel, vowing to stand with Palestinians “until the aggression against Gaza stops and the siege is lifted”.

The Houthi-led Government of Change and Reconstruction condemned the recent Israeli strikes as a “war crime” and a show of force meant to frighten civilians, accusing Israel of waging an open war on Arab nations with US-backing.

For over a month, Israeli strikes have targeted Yemeni power plants and ports, worsening humanitarian conditions and striking at ordinary Yemenis while claiming military objectives.
