Rabat – Moroccan students continue to earn honors and applause for their outstanding performances in several fields, including sciences, engineering, and business.

New data from Campus France, an agency in charge of promoting higher education, confirms that  Moroccan students are increasingly sought after internationally.

A spokesperson for the agency stressed Moroccan students’ efficiency and impressive performance in the entrance exams for France’s top schools.

“For several years now, Moroccan students have ranked among the very first foreign contingents admitted to Ecole Polytechnique, one of the most prestigious institutions in the world,” Moroccan news agency MAP quoted the spokesperson as saying.

France boasts over 43,300 Moroccan students pursuing higher education in the European country, making Morocco the most common country of origin for France’s international students.

More than 50% of Moroccan students in France study in universities, with a growing number of Moroccan students turning to business schools (19%).

Master’s programs account for 56% of enrollments, followed by bachelor’s programs (39%) and doctoral studies (5%).

Engineering schools attract 14% of Moroccan students.

Business schools scored an increase of more than 65% in enrollment, followed by engineering schools (18%).

Nearly 12,000 Moroccan students elect to study science, making it the most popular field for Moroccan students.

Many reports have shed light on the positive reputation that Moroccans enjoy in France.

Campus France has been among the agencies that commended Moroccan students’ academic performance.

The latest report in August placed Morocco among the top countries in international student mobility as a country of origin and destination for foreign studies.

Campus France cited data from the UNESCO Institute for Statistics (UIS), which shows that Morocco is the leading nationality of France’s international students, with  443,345 in the 2023-2024 academic year.

The number accounts for 10% of the total number of international students

Many reports show that many Moroccan students secured spots in Ecole Polytechnique in Paris throughout the year.

In the current academic season, the school admitted 24 Moroccan students.

The students will join the 2025 academic year in September after passing the entrance examinations.

Initially, 56 Moroccan applicants qualified for the written phase of the competitive exam.

According to a statement from Ecole Polytechnique, the number of Moroccans who secured a spot at the school confirms the “excellent results of Moroccan students” in the institution’s entrance examination.
