Rabat – Swedish packaging company Boxon announced its expansion in Morocco, opening a new office and a warehouse in the North African country.
In a statement on September 2, the company said the opening will support the region’s “rapidly growing automotive industry.”
The expansion will offer several services like local and operational support, direct collaboration with producers in Morocco, and faster deliveries.
Boxon said its expansion will benefit the automotive sector, in which the company collaborates and works with suppliers and companies.
“Starting early next year, Boxon will provide customers in Morocco with shorter lead times, greater flexibility, and enhanced collaboration with both local producers and trusted European partners,” the statement reads.
Morocco is a major hub for automotive companies and producers, as the country boasts several industrial zones that host major automotive companies.
Many renowned giants have opened factories in Morocco to manufacture car parts and other automotive-grade materials. Among the benefits of manufacturing within the country are incentives reaching up to 30% of the total investment amount.
The automotive sector is the country’s number one exporting sector. It created over 116,000 jobs between 2014 and 2018 alone.
Linus Lemark, CEO of Boxon Group, commended Morocco’s assets, describing it as one of the world’s most dynamic automotive markets.
“This step enables us to combine regional sourcing with European expertise,” Lemark said, promising smarter and more sustainable packaging solutions for Boxon’s customers.
The company’s statement recalled the importance of the expansion in Morocco, asserting that this reinforces Boxon’s commitment to support key industries worldwide with local expertise, strong partnerships, and sustainable packaging solutions.
