Rabat — As Morocco is fostering efforts to shift towards sustainable transportation, the country’s Vehicle Importers Association (AIVAM) will launch Auto Expo, a car show dedicated entirely to hybrid and electric vehicles.

The show’s first edition runs from September 18-28, 2025, at AUDA Space in Casablanca.

As the global automotive market transforms toward electrification, Morocco is striving to position itself as a key strategic player in this transition, aiming to lead the African region in adopting environmentally friendly mobility solutions.

The North African country’s Auto Expo will extend on 11 days across 3,500 square meters and expects nearly 50,000 visitors. Attendees will get the opportunity to explore the latest models from 31 automotive brands, with 70 hybrid and electric vehicles on display.

Organizers said that several cars will make their debut at the show.

“Auto Expo goes beyond a simple show,” AIVAM said in a press release. The event intends to serve as a platform for innovations and tomorrow’s solutions, carrying a clear vision: “Drive Green, Think Future.”

Organizers believe that “this slogan demonstrates the automotive sector’s strong commitment to responsible, innovative, and sustainable mobility.”

The expo will bring speakers together to discuss critical topics through dedicated conferences, exploring road safety, automotive financing, and the major challenges and opportunities that sustainable mobility presents.

Since green transportation is at the heart of the event, industry experts will take the lead in guiding visitors to understand both the obstacles and potential benefits of shifting to electric and hybrid vehicles.

The expo puts into action Morocco’s commitment to lead North Africa’s transition to cleaner transportation options in the global shift toward sustainable mobility.

As Morocco prepares to co-host the 2030 FIFA World Cup with Spain and Portugal, the country has launched an ambitious plans to revolutionize green public transportation, starting with a procurement program for 7,000 electric buses, with the first tender already launched for 1,300 vehicles.

Not only purchasing electric vehicles, Morocco is also working to join an elite of only 5-6 nations with complete electric vehicle manufacturing capabilities.

In the face of climate change, which Morocco holds the strong burden seen in the drought plaguing the country, these efforts towards eco-friendly options are more important than ever.
