Rabat – Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer Jinxiu Shanhe Automotive has signed an agreement with a Moroccan company for the export of 500 electric utility vehicles—the first phase of a broader program totaling 20,000 units.
Alongside this initial contract, the two parties reached a strategic agreement to establish a CKD (Completely Knocked Down) assembly plant in Morocco, a move that will solidify the company’s expansion into North Africa.
Competitive products for international markets
“The successful delivery of this order demonstrates the global competitiveness of our products and their strong alignment with international market needs,” said Chen Kuo, President of Jinxiu Shanhe Automotive.
According to the company, the vehicles destined for Morocco have already undergone rigorous EU certification processes and meet international standards in key areas, from battery range to safety features.
Designed with flexibility in mind, the models are suitable for a variety of functions, including short-distance urban logistics and daily passenger transport, making them well-suited for the North African market.
A growing global footprint
Jinxiu Shanhe specializes in lightweight, intelligent electric utility vehicles built with new materials and technologies. The brand has developed a portfolio of export models and currently maintains partnerships with 17 countries and regions worldwide.
In Morocco, the cooperation will produce vehicles adapted to local environments, ensuring they perform efficiently under local road conditions and climate realities across the region.
Local assembly and industrial impact
As part of the deal, the Moroccan partner will be authorized to set up a CKD assembly plant, marking a shift from importing finished vehicles to localized production.
“This transformation will not only reduce tariffs and transportation costs, thereby improving price competitiveness in North Africa, but will also create local jobs and strengthen the skills base of the Moroccan industrial sector,” explained Chen Kuo.
The project represents a strategic entry into the African market for Jinxiu Shanhe and a step forward for Morocco’s ambitions to expand its role as a regional hub for green mobility and advanced manufacturing.
