Rabat – In preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON 2025), Morocco has introduced a temporary electronic travel authorization (AEVM) requirement for supporters traveling to the country.
The measure applies even to citizens of visa-exempt countries, such as Tunisia, and will be in force between September 25, 2025, and January 25, 2026.
The Moroccan Consulate in Tunis confirmed that the AEVM will be mandatory for Tunisian fans wishing to attend the tournament matches, which Morocco will host from December 21, 2025, to January 18, 2026.
According to reports, the AEVM requirement also applies to supporters from Algeria, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Gabon, Niger, Senegal, and Togo, meaning fans from these countries will also need to obtain the authorization before traveling to Morocco for AFCON 2025.
To manage the process, Moroccan authorities, in partnership with the Confederation of African Football (CAF), have launched a digital platform and mobile application called “Yalla.”

The consulate clarified that Tunisian fans planning to attend the tournament must submit their AEVM requests via the application, which was specially set up by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation for the event.
For other types of visits, including tourism, business, and family trips, Tunisians must apply for the AEVM through the official website www.acces-maroc.ma
However, certain categories are exempt from this temporary requirement, including holders of diplomatic, service, special, and official passports, foreign nationals legally residing in Morocco with valid residency permits, and transit passengers not entering Moroccan territory.
Spouses of Moroccan nationals and their children, upon proof of marriage or filiation, are exempt from this requirement, as well as travelers over the age of 55.
The Moroccan authorities noted that this measure is temporary and strictly linked to AFCON 2025 preparations, as it aims to ensure a smooth and secure influx of visitors during the continental tournament.
