Rabat – Marsa Maroc CEO, Tarik El Aroussi, welcomed ZPMC Vice Chairman You Ruikai in Casablanca to further discuss potential partnerships. The exchange confirmed both parties’ interest in reinforcing their years-long collaboration.To assist Marsa Maroc in its strategic 2030 vision, and support the development of Moroccan port infrastructures, ZMPC is set to supply the company with 18 latest-generation container gantries, which will be utilized in the Casablanca and future Nador West Med terminals.
The delivery is planned for the last quarter of 2026 to mark a decisive step in the inauguration of the Nador West Med hub.
The hubs’ choice is strategic. Casablanca’s hub is a historic port and the country’s largest container traffic center. The modernization of the city’s facilities are crucial to maintain trade growth.
Nador West Med is a key Moroccan port project designed to attract global shipping traffic.
This deal with ZPMC – an internationally renowned manufacturer – highlights Marsa Maroc’s desire to partner with global leaders to sustain its growth.
Marsa Maroc is establishing itself as a pillar of the African port system, with 25 terminals, operated in 11 ports across the country, and annual traffic that exceeds 60 million tonnes.
By emphasizing technological advancement and forming collaborations with leading global partners, the company is pushing ahead with its “Marsa 2030” strategic vision.
This contract gives Morocco access to cutting-edge technologies, boosting the country’s logistical competitiveness and helping it meet the growing demands of global trade.
