Arsenal Team News

Injuries: Defender Piero Hincapié and winger Noni Madueke remain sidelined, and long-term absentees Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz are still recovering from ACL injury.

Returning players: Playmaker Martin Ødegaard and center-back William Saliba both made substitute appearances in the weekend win and are on the list to start this game

Predicted lineup: Raya; White, Saliba, Gabriel, Calafiori; Odegaard, Zubimendi, Merino; Saka, Gyokeres, Martinelli

Olympiacos Team News

Injuries: The Greek side has only two absentees due to injuries. Striker Roman Yaremchuk and right-back Rodinei.

Summer signings: Olympiacos strengthened their squad this summer by signing Brazilian winger Gabriel Strefezza and Argentine midfielder Santiago Hezze. Both are expected to start today’s game.

Key threats: Up front, Moroccan striker Ayoub El Kaabi leads Olympiacos’ attack. He’s experienced in European competitions; he was the top scorer in last season’s Europa League

Predicted lineup : Paschalakis; Costinha, Retsos, Pirola, Ortega; Garcia, Hezze; Strefezza, Chiquinho, Podence; El Kaabi

What to Expect

Arsenal have the home advantage. And they will play their high-press game, hoping to score an early goal to settle the match quickly and rotate players to focus on their next fixture in the Premier League against West Ham.

Olympiakos are expected to defend and play counterattack or score from a set piece

Safe Calls
  • Both Teams to Score: NO – even with Olympiacos’ attacking spark, they lack the quality to score against Arsenal’s solid defence
  • Over 2.5 Goals: likely
  • Gabriel will score from a corner
  • Arsenal to Win or Draw: Sensible cover, the Gunners are heavily favored at home

Prediction: Arsenal 3–0 Olympiacos
