Rabat — Morocco’s 8th edition of Aerospace Meetings Casablanca wrapped up on Oct. 2, drawing over 1,000 participants.

Held in Nouaceur, Casablanca, the three-day event provided a platform for high-stakes business negotiations and strategic discussions about the future of the aerospace industry.

It brought together industry giants including Airbus, Boeing, RTX Pratt & Whitney, Safran, Thales, and Lockheed Martin. These major players joined manufacturers, suppliers, and service providers from Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East, and Africa.

A statement from the organizers indicated that the Moroccan aerospace sector continues to deliver impressive results.

In 2024, the industry posted record exports of MAD 26.45 billion ($2.9 billion) — a 15% jump from the previous year. Industry revenue has multiplied by 35 over the past two decades, climbing from MAD 700 million ($76.75 million) to over MAD 23 billion ($2.52 billion).

“Morocco has transformed itself into a strategic aerospace hub,” said Adil Jalali, President of the Moroccan Aerospace Industries Association (GIMAS), which organized the event alongside the Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the Moroccan Investment and Export Development Agency (AMDIE).

The country now hosts nearly 150 aerospace and space companies, compared to just a dozen two decades ago.

The sector employs over 23,000 people, with women making up over 40% of the workforce. Local integration has reached 42%, demonstrating the industry’s deep roots in Morocco’s economy.

Industry Minister Ryad Mezzour attended the opening conference, alongside other senior officials, including Ali Seddiki, Director General of AMDIE, and Said Benhajjou, President of the Aerospace Moroccan Cluster.

Conference sessions tackled critical industry challenges, including operational excellence, supply chain financing, artificial intelligence applications, and human capital development. Participants discussed how to train and adapt workers to meet the evolving needs of the aerospace sector.

Since its launch in 2011, Aerospace Meetings Casablanca has established itself as an essential gathering for aerospace professionals worldwide. The event serves as a business convention that connects every link in the supply chain, from major contractors to equipment manufacturers and service providers.

The summit positions Morocco as a growing force in global aerospace manufacturing, with the country now integrating high-value technologies and expanding into new aerospace specialties.
