Rabat — The Casablanca Court of Appeal has postponed the hearing in the case of Mohamed Boudrika, former president of Raja Casablanca, until October 22.

The delay comes after his defense team requested the summoning of a notary who accused Boudrika of misappropriating a check worth MAD 6 million ($655,916) — allegations he firmly denies.

During the session, Boudrika appeared smiling as he stood in the defendants’ area, surrounded by his legal team.

His lawyers formally requested that the notary be summoned through a judicial officer after she failed to attend the second hearing.

Background of the case

In July, the Ain Sebaa Court of First Instance sentenced Boudrika to five years in prison with a fine exceeding MAD 650,000 ($65,000), along with a one-year ban on issuing checks.

The charges include issuing bad checks, fraud, and forgery.

Boudrika denied all charges during the hearings. Reports indicated that he argued that hard evidence had never been provided, but instead the investigating judge had relied only on the complainant’s statements.

German authorities arrested Boudrika in July 2024 at Hamburg Airport. His arrest came following a Europol notice and an international arrest warrant, and he was later extradited to Morocco to face trial.

The former Raja head has been held in pretrial detention at Oukacha prison in Casablanca since April 25 this year.
