Rabat – The Morocco U17 women’s national team faced a tough challenge against Brazil in their opening match of the 2025 U17 Women’s World Cup. The game, held at Stade Olympique de Rabat on Friday, ended in a 3-0 victory for Brazil.
The Brazilian team took the lead early, with Andreyna Evelin scoring in the 12th minute. Giovanna Waksman doubled the lead in the 35th minute, with Allyne Vithorya scoring the third goal in the 75th minute of the game. Meanwhile Morocco could not find a way back into the game.
Despite putting up a strong defensive effort, the Moroccan players were unable to break through Brazil’s attack.
Morocco, playing in a 4-3-3 formation, fielded players including Ahlam Boukhareb in goal, with defenders Maryam Rahmoune, Anissa Hamdani, and Imène Diyen, and forwards like Dounia El Mesmoudi and Mayssa Baha. Brazil played a 3-4-3 formation, showing their usual attacking strength.
This match marks another chapter in the growing experience of Morocco’s U17 women’s team on the international stage. Brazil, known for its strong youth programs, has consistently been a tough opponent for Morocco.
With this loss, Morocco sits at the bottom of Group stage points, but the tournament continues, and they will now focus on their next match to try to get their first points. The U17 Women’s World Cup 2025 is taking place across Morocco. This gives local fans a chance to support their national team at home.
Morocco will face their next group-stage opponent, Italy and Costa Rica, in hopes of bouncing back and showing improvement in the tournament.
