Rabat — SIST, an associate college of Cardiff Metropolitan University, hosted its latest graduation ceremony, awarding degrees in business management, software engineering, and MBA programs to a new class of international students.
The ceremony marked a significant milestone for graduates who completed their studies through the UK-Morocco educational partnership, which now celebrates 15 years of collaboration.
Filled with great joy, graduates received their certificates, reaping the fruits of late nights, hard work, and challenging projects.
Professor commends ‘wonderful’ teaching experience
Professor Irfan, who teaches IT software engineering across SIST’s multiple campuses, shared his reflections at the ceremony.
“It was a wonderful experience for me to be associated with SIST,” Irfan told Morocco World News (MWN), focusing on his work at campuses in both Rabat and Tangier.
The professor praised the institution’s environment, noting that “the people, the students, the campuses, everywhere, everything is wonderful.”
He congratulated graduates from all campuses and extended his best wishes as they move forward in their careers.
Graduates commend multicultural learning environment
The ceremony brought together students from diverse backgrounds, with several graduates stressing the unique opportunity to pursue British education in Morocco.
Sultan Kakon, a 24-year-old Lebanese graduate, expressed his excitement about completing the three-year journey with Cardiff Metropolitan University.
“I’m just so happy to be here finishing the journey that I started three years ago,” he said.
BaiLe Wallingford praised the distinctive nature of the program. “I had the great opportunity to study a British program here in Morocco,” she told MWN.
Wallingford spoke of what made her educational experience stand out: “I got to study and thrive in such a multicultural environment and I don’t think I could have done this anywhere else.”
Partnership marks 15 years, announces new sport management program
Cardiff Metropolitan University’s Vice-Chancellor Professor David Brookesbank attended his fifth SIST graduation ceremony, celebrating both the 15-year partnership and SIST’s 25th anniversary.
“It’s an absolute pleasure to be back in Morocco again,” Brookesbank told MWN, commending SIST for standing “at the very forefront of British education in Morocco.”
The vice-chancellor announced an upcoming new BSc in Sport Management to be launched ahead of Morocco’s co-hosting of the 2030 FIFA World Cup. The program adds to the growing range of offerings that strengthen UK-Morocco educational ties.
Brookesbank expressed gratitude for the warm welcome he received and reaffirmed the university’s commitment to expanding its partnership with SIST.
The SIST-Cardiff Metropolitan partnership continues to attract international students seeking quality British education in a North African setting, creating a bridge between cultures and continents.
