Saudi Arabia’s General Entertainment Authority chairman, Turki Al-Sheikh, has congratulated Morocco following their win at the FIFA U20 World Cup.

Al-Sheikh wrote on X (formerly Twitter): “Congratulations to our brotherly Moroccan team, you deserve it.”

Morocco claimed the title after beating Argentina 2-0 in the final at the Estadio Julio Martínez Prádanos in Chile on Monday night. This victory marks Morocco’s first-ever U20 World Cup win, the first Arab nation to lift the trophy and the second in Africa – after Ghana in 2009.

Egyptian football analyst Haitham Farouk also praised the achievement. Speaking on beIN Sports, he said: “Words cannot describe this accomplishment. Morocco’s U20 team is the best in the world at playing football.”

Farouk added: “When the draw was made, I felt sympathy for Morocco because they faced teams with huge footballing histories, such as Brazil, Spain, and Mexico, and later confronted top academies in the knockout stages.”

He concluded: “I am proud of this generation, which has achieved a major milestone for African and Arab football, and especially for Moroccan football. When work is done sincerely for the good of the country, this is the result.”
