Mohammedia – The British Moroccan Society (BMS) will hold its annual London Gala Dinner at The Cumberland Hotel on the evening of Wednesday, November 5. The event, considered the highlight of the BMS calendar, will honor the continuous connections between the UK and Morocco in education, culture, and community development.
The British Ambassador to Morocco, Alex Pinfield OBE, will be the guest of honor. Pinfield has been actively involved in a number of UK-Morocco cooperation projects. Earlier this year, he opened the new BMS Learning Centre in Talatast.
Members of the UK International Search and Rescue (ISAR) team will also be at the dinner. Lee Howell of ISAR recently inaugurated another BMS Learning Center in the village of Ijoukak, located in southern Morocco.
The annual Gala’s goals are to improve relations between the two countries and bring attention to the activities of organizations that support education and sustainable development in Morocco.
This year’s gathering comes as the country continues to attract interest from British investors, particularly in renewable energy, real estate, and education.
Bosworth Property Marrakech, which has been a long-time supporter of BMS programs, is sponsoring the event. The society’s chairman and committee expressed they were “very grateful” for the cooperation and the continued engagement of its members.
Guests can expect a formal evening in the heart of London with a three-course dinner, and live entertainment.
Over the past year, BMS has expanded its community outreach in Morocco through projects in rural education, women’s empowerment, and training. The opening of the Talatast and Ijoukak centers was a big step toward the organization’s mission to support access to learning for young people.
Tickets for the Gala Dinner are priced at £95 and are available online through Eventbrite. The event will bring together diplomats, business leaders, and long-time members of the Moroccan diaspora in Britain to celebrate their common values and relationship.
For over five decades, the British Moroccan Society has fostered friendship and cooperation between the two countries through education, charity and cultural exchange.
