Casablanca – Souhaila Ettahiri, a Moroccan-rooted football agent based in Spain, has drawn renewed attention after photos from her wedding celebration with Brazilian football legend Roberto Carlos resurfaced across Arab social media.
The images have brought fresh attention to Ettahiri, whose career in football representation has given her a connection to the sport beyond her relationship with the former Real Madrid star.
Wedding photos spark fresh attention
Photos of the couple began circulating widely on August 17, prompting some social media users to believe that the former Brazil and Real Madrid star had recently married. However, the marriage itself is not new.
According to Sky News Arabia, Roberto Carlos and Ettahiri’s marriage was reported in January, while the newly circulating images were taken during a private celebration held in July.
A career in football beyond her marriage
Ettahiri is more than the wife of one of football’s most recognizable figures. She is a FIFA-licensed players’ agent based in Spain and works in football management and representation.
Her professional career has also brought her into discussions about the development of Moroccan football.
In June, Ettahiri spoke to Morocco’s news agency MAP about the Mohammed VI Football Academy and Morocco’s growing reputation as a producer of young football talent.
She described the academy as an institution with a promising future.
She also highlighted the importance of giving Moroccan youngsters greater international exposure, while stressing that their development should extend beyond the pitch to include education, languages and preparation for life after football.

Ettahiri’s relationship with Roberto Carlos reportedly began in a professional setting before developing into a personal relationship, according to Sky News Arabia.
The former footballer later publicly introduced Ettahiri as his wife, commending her as a successful businesswoman and someone who had brought happiness into his life.
