Rabat – Paris Saint-Germain head coach Luis Enrique has once again praised Moroccan international Achraf Hakimi, following PSG’s 3–0 win over Brest on Saturday, after he scored two goals in that game.
Speaking to the media after the match, Enrique addressed comparisons between Hakimi and Brazilian legend Dani Alves, whom he previously coached at Barcelona.
“Hakimi? What I said yesterday still stands, he’s the best right-back in the world right now,” Enrique stated. “Is he the most effective player I’ve coached? I had Dani Alves at Barcelona, too, so the comparison is tough. But I’m very happy with Achraf’s performance.”
Hakimi continues to impress in his fourth season with PSG, combining defensive discipline with attacking flair.
In the current 2025–26 campaign, he has made 17 appearances across all competitions, logging over 1,300 minutes. He’s contributed 4 goals and 5 assists, including a brace against Brest, and helped PSG keep 9 clean sheets.
His performances earned him a historic 6th-place finish in the 2025 Ballon d’Or, making him the first Moroccan to reach the top 10. He also featured among the finalists for the CAF African Player of the Year.
Hakimi ranks among the top defenders in Ligue 1 this season, excelling in progressive carries, chance creation, and duels won. His pace, positioning, and ability to transition quickly into attack have made him a key figure in PSG’s tactical setup.
Since joining PSG in 2021, Hakimi has built a reputation as one of the most consistent and dynamic right-backs in world football. With over 420 career matches, 58 goals, and 70 assists, his impact goes far beyond defense.
