Rabat – Abdellatif Hammouchi, Director General of National Security and Territorial Surveillance (DGST), was reappointed for a second term to the Supreme Council of Naif Arab University for Security Sciences (NAUSS), the academic and research body of the Council of Arab Interior Ministers.

Hammouchi took part in the 51st annual session of the Supreme Council of NAUSS, held from November 2 to 4 in Riyadh, and attended the graduation ceremony of the university’s 43rd class of postgraduate students.

As a key regional hub for police and security sciences, the university continues to play a central role in shaping academic and technical training across the Arab world.

The renewal of Hammouchi’s mandate within the Supreme Council depicts the recognition of his contributions to enhancing academic police training and advancing professional standards in security education.

The council is the university’s highest decision-making body, responsible for defining its strategic orientation and overseeing its scientific, administrative, and financial affairs.

Chaired by Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Interior, Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Nayef Al Saud, the council reviewed the university’s 2025-2029 strategic plan, which seeks to diversify educational programs, expand research initiatives, and prepare for emerging challenges in academic and professional police training.

During the session, the council also noted key achievements under the current strategic plan, including NAUSS’ international accreditation by the American Council for Continuing Education and Training (ACCET) through 2030, and the full accreditation of three academic programs by France’s High Council for Evaluation of Research and Higher Education.

The university’s program on economic crimes received recognition from several international research institutions, while its master’s program in cybercrime was formally integrated into Saudi Arabia’s national cybersecurity framework.

In parallel with the council’s deliberations, Hammouchi attended the official graduation ceremony of NAUSS’ 43rd cohort, which this year includes 374 graduates representing 11 Arab countries.
