Rabat – Kapamilya actors Joshua Garcia and Ivana Alawi, whose father is Moroccan, are teaming up for a new television series titled “Love is Never Gone,” the first Filipino TV show to be shot in Morocco.

ABS-CBN’s Dreamscape Entertainment released a teaser showing the two stars filming in the North African country.

The production describes the show as an action-packed story set against Morocco’s deserts and dramatic landscapes. It will also be the first time Joshua and Ivana appear together in a teleserye. Love is Never Gone is expected to air in 2026.

Morocco has become a major destination for global film and television productions. With its deserts, mountains, ancient cities, and modern facilities, the country now feels like a second home for many filmmakers from Hollywood and beyond.

International productions regularly choose Morocco because it can transform into almost any setting, from ancient Egypt to biblical cities, and even futuristic worlds.

Some famous examples include “Gladiator” and “Kingdom of Heaven,” both shot partly in Ouarzazate, often described as “the Hollywood of Africa.”

The fantasy drama series “Game of Thrones” filmed some of its scenes in Essaouira and Aït Benhaddou,  while key action scenes from “Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation,” were shot in Rabat and Casablanca.

Other famous examples include “The Mummy,” “Inception,” and several BBC and Netflix productions.

The country also hosts large studio complexes like CLA Studios and Atlas Studios, among the biggest in the world.

Morocco is also hosting the filming of the upcoming movie Captain India, starring Kartik Aaryan, with action-packed scenes set against Morocco’s dramatic landscapes. Other Bollywood films like Baaghi 3 and Agent Vinod also used Moroccan locations.

And now with “Love is Never Gone,” the Philippines joins the growing list of countries choosing Morocco as a filming location.
