Rabat – Real Madrid has suffered another setback with the news that Eder Militao will be out for about 15 days due to a muscle injury in his right adductor.
The Brazilian defender felt discomfort during Brazil’s friendly against Tunisia and had to leave the pitch in the second half.
Medical tests later confirmed the problem, forcing him to miss several upcoming matches, including tough away trips against Elche, Olympiacos, Girona, and Athletic Bilbao.
This is not the first time Militão has faced injury troubles. In August 2023, he tore his anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) in his left knee, an injury that kept him sidelined for most of the season.
His recovery was long and difficult, but he returned stronger, quickly becoming one of the most reliable defenders in La Liga.
Unfortunately, his body has shown signs of strain again, with recurring muscle issues that now raise concerns about his consistency.
Real Madrid will now miss Militão, whose presence usually brings calm and confidence in big matches.
Coach Xabi Alonso had planned to rely on Antonio Rüdiger, young defender Hujisen, or David Alaba, who has struggled to find his rhythm this season.
Now the situation is even worse as Rüdiger is injured, and Alaba is also out and not in form; that leaves only Hujisen and Marco Asensio at the back line.
Madrid is set to face Manchester City on December 10 in the Champions League, making this series of bad news a very concerning development for the Spanish club.
Militão’s defensive strength would have been helped the team, especially as injuries have become a major concern this season for Madrid’s squad – with players like Courtois, Camavinga, and Carvajal also dealing with fitness problems.
