Rabat – FC Barcelona’s friendly match, planned for December 22, will no longer take place in Morocco, according to Mundo Deportivo.
The news comes after La Liga rescheduled FC Barcelona’s game against Villarreal to December 21 at La Ceramica.
This makes it impossible for FC Barcelona to make the Morocco trip, adds the report.
“What remained to be decided was whether Hansi Flick’s team would start their holidays on the night of Sunday the 21st or play a friendly on Monday the 22nd in Morocco- something that has now been ruled out,” Mundo Deportivo said.
Earlier this month, the same source reported that the La Liga giant was in talks for a friendly match in Casablanca.
This is not the first time reports have speculated that Barcelona was set to play in Morocco.
In July, the Bulugrana team also reportedly canceled plans to play a pre-season friendly match in Casablanca.
La Liga’s standings now feature Real Madrid topping the list with 31 points in 12 played matches, followed by FC Barcelona with 28 points.
Villareal is the third on the list with 26 points, followed by Atletico Madrid, Real Betis, Espanyol, and Athletic Club.
Coming last in the table is Oviedo, with eight points.
FC Barcelona’s upcoming fixtures include a game against Athletic Club on November 22, against Chelsea on November 25, and against Alaves on November 29.
