Rabat – King Mohammed VI has sent a message of congratulations to the AS FAR women’s football club following their 2025 African Women’s Champions League title.

In his message, the King expressed warm congratulations to everyone at the AS FAR women’s football club for winning the fifth edition of the CAF Women’s Champions League, which Egypt hosted.

The monarch shared his great pride and admiration following this continental victory – the second of its kind for the AS FAR women’s team.

He noted that this achievement adds to the impressive record of accomplishments Moroccan football has earned on both continental and international stages.

The King commended the efforts of everyone who contributed to this success, including the players, coaches, technical and medical staff, and administrative officials.

King Mohammed VI also “renewed his heartfelt congratulations to the members of the AS FAR women’s team and all its components.” The monarch wished “them full success in their football careers,” adding he hopes “they can win more distinctions and titles and strengthen the distinguished position of Moroccan women’s football at regional, continental, and international levels.”

This victory marks a significant milestone for Moroccan women’s football and reflects the growing strength of the sport in the country.

AS FAR won a second African Women’s Champions League title on Friday night in Ismailia, defeating ASEC Mimosas 2-1.

This continental triumph also propels AS FAR into the Women’s Club World Cup.

The Moroccan club will face China’s Wuhan Jiangda in the second round at Berrechid Municipal Stadium.

The winners will take on Arsenal, the European champions, in the semi-finals in London, United Kingdom.

The other semi-final will pit American side Gotham FC against Brazil’s Corinthians, also in London.
