Israeli Forces Carry Out Demolitions in Gaza, Kill Two Teenagers in West Bank

Rabat – Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF) carried out new demolition and destruction operations at dawn in the eastern areas of Gaza City, behind the so-called “yellow line.”

The yellow line marks the boundary separating Palestinian residential areas from the zones where Israeli troops are stationed. Residents say the IOF has crossed this line almost daily, despite the ceasefire terms that prohibit it.

Israeli forces demolished homes and detonated explosives in several neighbourhoods east of Gaza City, including Tuffah and Shujayea. Furthermore, the IOF opened fire east of the Bureij refugee camp in the central Gaza Strip, where at least one person was killed. Heavy gunfire and artillery shelling were also heard east of Khan Younis, inside the yellow line.

Tension also spread beyond Gaza. An Israeli quadcopter drone dropped explosives on a home in the town of Aitaroun in southern Lebanon today, adding to fears of further regional escalation.

Meanwhile in the occupied West Bank, Israeli forces killed two Palestinian teenagers in separate incidents in Hebron and Ramallah. In Hebron, the IOF said 17-year-old Muhannad Tariq Muhammad al-Zughair attempted to stab a soldier. No independent investigation has been launched to confirm the claim. The teenager was injured, fled the scene, and was later found and shot inside a car. Israeli forces are withholding his body, a practice that has become common.

In Ramallah, 18-year-old Raslan Asmar was held by soldiers, shot while on the ground, and left to bleed for hours. The killing happened on the same day that two Israeli soldiers were lightly injured in a stabbing attack in the nearby Ateret settlement.

Israeli raids and home demolitions continue across the occupied West Bank, targeting families of people accused of carrying out attacks.

Amid the continued aggression, international pressure on Israel is increasing. UK Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper called on Israel to “allow much more aid in and open all the routes and crossings immediately,” stressing the urgent need for humanitarian access to Gaza.
