Morocco had 55% possession, 13 shots, and 5 on target. They created five big chances and passed the ball well. Comoros had 10 shots, 3 on target, and only one big chance.
Morocco’s midfield controlled the game, and the defense stayed solid. Coach Sektioui used all five substitutions to keep the team fresh.
The result extends Morocco’s strong record in regional competitions. The Atlas Lions won the Arab Cup in 2012 and have enjoyed success in the African Nations Championship.
For Comoros, today’s game marked their first group-stage appearance in the Arab Cup after a dramatic qualifying win over Yemen.
This win puts Morocco in a good position in Group B, with their next match being against Oman on December 5.
A second win would move them closer to the knockout stage. Comoros, meanwhile, will face Saudi Arabia and need a strong response to stay in the tournament.
