Rabat – The Embassy and High Representation of the Gabonese Republic in Morocco inaugurated today “THE IDEOLOGIES” a compelling two-voice art exhibition that brings together contemporary African artistic expression.

The exhibition features the works of Moroccan emerging talent Ines-Noor Chaqroun and acclaimed Gabonese artist Isham Delberg, whose distinctive visual language has captivated audiences across the continent. Through their contrasting styles and perspectives, the two artists explore the richness, diversity, and dynamism of contemporary African art, offering a dialogue between their respective artistic visions.

The launch event was attended by Mehdi Bensaid, Morocco’s Minister of Culture, Youth and Communication, alongside other public figures, highlighting the importance of fostering cultural exchange between Morocco and Gabon.

In an interview with Morocco World News (MWN), Maghouya Ida-IGa Tathiana Chimene, First Counsellor at the Gabonese Embassy in Rabat, emphasized the significance of the exhibition. She explained that the initiative, under the guidance of Gabonese Ambassador Branly Martial Oupolo, aims to establish a cultural bridge between Gabon and Morocco, promote South-South cooperation, and showcase talents from both countries, particularly in the fields of painting and visual arts.

“This is the first edition of such an event,” Chimene noted. “We believe this organization will not be limited to this year, and we plan to continue it next year in a joint manner, should other partners agree.”

Speaking to MWN, artist Ines-Noor Chaqroun shared her perspective on the exhibition: “This exhibition is called ‘The Ideologies.’ We decided the title together, reflecting what inspires us and the collaboration between different countries in Africa. For me, it’s about the inner growth of women in Africa, while for the other artists, it reflects the broader culture and external influences. The ambassador gave us the opportunity to present this exhibition here in Rabat, at the embassy, for the first time.”

“THE IDEOLOGIES — une traversée à deux voix” marks a meaningful step in cultural exchange between Gabon and Morocco, highlighting contemporary African creativity while establishing a platform for collaboration and dialogue that the organizers hope to expand in future editions.
