Morocco’s E-Commerce Market Nears $1.7 Billion in 2025: Fashion, Electronics, and Beauty Lead the Boom

This steady rise reflects both the digital transformation of Moroccan households and the increasing trust consumers place in online platforms, particularly for everyday essentials.

Rabat – Morocco’s online shopping sector continues its rapid expansion, with e-commerce revenue expected to reach $1.7 billion in 2025, according to an analysis by Concli.com of Statista’s Digital Market Outlook data. Online spending in the country has more than doubled since 2017, driven by strong growth in fashion, consumer electronics, and beauty products.

Fashion remains Morocco’s strongest online segment

The fashion category continues to dominate Morocco’s e-commerce landscape, with projected revenue of $556 million by the end of 2025. Apparel represents the largest share, followed by accessories and footwear.

Several factors explain this momentum:

  • A young, style-driven population highly active online
  • The rise of fast-fashion platforms and social media shopping like Shein and Temu
  • Seasonal promotions and increased availability of international brands

Despite economic pressure, fashion remains the leading driver of online spending in Morocco.

Electronics surge past $370M, powered by smartphones

Consumer electronics, one of the fastest-growing online categories, are set to reach USD 370 million by the end of this year.
Smartphones alone represent two-thirds of the entire segment, highlighting Morocco’s strong mobile-first behavior.

Key drivers include:

  • High smartphone penetration
  • Faster replacement cycles and rising demand for mid-range models
  • Increased availability of refurbished devices
  • Wider adoption of digital payment methods

Computing devices and multimedia products also continue to climb steadily as remote work and digital learning reshape purchasing habits.

Beauty & personal care: a rising category

With projected revenue exceeding $111 million in 2025, beauty and personal care are now among Morocco’s most dynamic e-commerce segments.

Growth is driven by:

  • Social media influence and beauty creators
  • Rising demand for skincare routines
  • Increased trust in certified sellers and authentic products
  • Expansion of local and international brands online

While personal care remains the category’s backbone, cosmetics and skincare show the strongest upward trend.

A rapidly maturing digital economy

Morocco’s e-commerce boom reflects deeper structural changes:

  • Greater trust in online transactions
  • Improved logistics and delivery networks
  • Increased digital literacy across all age groups
  • Wider adoption of electronic payments and mobile wallets

Yet challenges remain, notably the persistent reliance on cash-on-delivery and the need for clearer return policies and verified product authenticity.

Platforms that prioritize transparency, consumer trust, and verified information, such as Concli.com, are expected to play a growing role in guiding shoppers toward safer and better-informed buying decisions.
