Rabat – Morocco’s TAMWILCOM mobilized MAD 23.9 billion ($2.47 billion) in financing during the first half of 2026, as the public institution expanded its support for businesses and other economic actors.
The figure represents MAD 14.7 billion ($1.52 billion) in commitments across more than 31,500 credit operations, according to the institution’s Board of Directors, which met in Rabat on Tuesday to review its first-half activity and financial results.
Businesses accounted for nearly 26,000 of those operations, with small and microenterprises among the main beneficiaries.
The results come as TAMWILCOM puts its new JOSSOUR 2030 strategy into practice. The roadmap was approved earlier this year with the aim to widen access to finance, support a new generation of entrepreneurs, and strengthen financial inclusion across Morocco.
Private companies remain at the center
Guarantees for private companies remained TAMWILCOM’s main area of activity. The institution helped mobilize nearly MAD 20 billion ($2.07 billion) in corporate loans during the first six months of 2026, with total commitments of MAD 11.5 billion ($1.19 billion).
Microenterprises and very small businesses accounted for a substantial share of this activity through Damane Express. The program guaranteed more than 20,000 loans worth MAD 2.7 billion ($278.8 million).
TAMWILCOM also directed significant support toward small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).
Its Damane Atassyir guarantee mechanism, which covers working-capital loans, helped mobilize MAD 14.5 billion ($1.50 billion) in credit during the period. Commitments under the scheme reached MAD 7.9 billion ($815.9 million).
For business investment, Damane Istitmar covered MAD 2.4 billion ($247.9 million) in loans, with TAMWILCOM commitments of MAD 1.3 billion ($134.3 million).
The institution also continued to work with public establishments and enterprises. Guarantees for financing instruments raised from domestic and international lenders generated MAD 2 billion ($206.6 million) in commitments during the first half of the year.
DAAMA TAMWIL posts 72% growth
TAMWILCOM’s participatory finance window, DAAMA TAMWIL, also recorded a sharp rise in activity.
The mechanism provided more than MAD 400 million ($41.3 million) in financing to businesses in the first half of 2026, up 72% from the same period last year.
The growth adds another dimension to TAMWILCOM’s financing portfolio as the institution seeks to serve businesses through conventional guarantees as well as participatory finance solutions.
Net income reaches $20.5 million
The board also reviewed TAMWILCOM’s financial statements for the six months ended June 30.
The institution posted net banking income of MAD 413 million ($42.7 million), while net income reached MAD 198 million ($20.5 million).
TAMWILCOM’s first-half results come as the institution continues to position guarantees and other financing tools as a means to improve businesses’ access to credit, particularly for smaller companies that can face greater barriers to conventional bank financing.
