Rabat – Football Supporters Europe (FSE), a non-profit association, has condemned FIFA for “extortionate” ticket prices for the 2026 World Cup.
FSE, which is recognized by bodies including UEFA and the Council of Europe, said in a statement on Thursday that FIFA is imposing extortionate ticket prices on most dedicated supporters for the next global tournament.
For the group, FIFA prices for tickets allocated to national associations are reaching “astronomical levels.”
“Based on the information currently available to FSE, if a supporter were to follow their team from the first match to the final through a PMA allocation [ participating member association], it would cost them a minimum 6900 USD- nearly five times as much as during the FIFA WC 2022 in Qatar,” the press release warned.
The group condemned what it described as a non-consistent price on all group stage games, accusing FIFA of using vague criteria in the pricing policy depending on the perceived attractiveness of the fixtures.
“Fans of different national teams will therefore have to pay different prices for the same category at the same stage of the tournament, without any transparency on the pricing structure enforced by FIFA,” the statement said.
The group urged FIFA to halt PMA ticket sales and to offer consultation with all impacted parties with the aim of reviewing ticket prices.
Last week marked the 2026 World Cup draw, which placed Morocco in Group C alongside Brazil, Scotland, and Haiti.
The expanded 48-team tournament has created 12 groups of four teams each.
The competition will feature 104 games across the US, Canada, and Mexico.
